22Bet Kenya Champions Collaboration, Responsible Gaming, and Regulatory Progress at Gaming Tech Summit
Joash Ajuoga, representing 22Bet Kenya, has emphasized the importance of collaboration between regulators, operators, and industry stakeholders to strengthen responsible gaming and support the sustainable growth of Africa’s gaming sector.
Speaking at the Gaming Tech Africa Summit in Nairobi, Ajuoga said the event continues to serve as a key platform bringing together regulators, operators, and partners to discuss the future of the industry and close existing operational and regulatory gaps.
He noted that the participation of multiple stakeholders at the summit reflects the growing maturity of the sector and the importance of shared responsibility in shaping its future.
“One of the most important things we appreciate here is the opportunity to bridge gaps and reflect on the progress we’ve made over time,” he said.
Ajuoga commended regulators for fostering an open and cooperative environment that allows operators to engage more effectively within the industry.
He also highlighted the role of advisory bodies and industry partners in strengthening responsible gaming frameworks, compliance systems, and operational standards.
Gaming industry key gains include improved regulatory coordination, stronger responsible gaming practices, and increased awareness around marketing and advertising standards.
He stressed that the industry must continue balancing economic sustainability with social responsibility, particularly in areas such as advertising, messaging, and consumer protection.
“We are focused on ensuring economic sustainability for companies, while also upholding social responsibility across marketing and operations,” he noted.
Ajuoga further warned against the risks posed by unregulated platforms, saying they undermine progress made by licensed operators and regulators.
He emphasized that the goal of the summit is not to assign blame but to strengthen cooperation across all stakeholders.
“We did not come here to blame any side. The focus is collaboration—so that operators can remain sustainable while also protecting customers and ensuring responsible industry growth,” he said.
Joash reaffirmed 22Bet Kenya’s commitment to responsible gaming, regulatory compliance, and continued engagement with industry partners to strengthen the sector’s future.
