The ruling party chairperson Cecil mbarire has reaffirmed the party commitments commitment to strengthening internal democracy through ongoing Phase 2 grassroots elections, with officials emphasizing technology-driven, transparent, and well-coordinated processes across the country.
Speaking during the update, The  Chairperson Cecily Mbarire said the party remains focused on delivering credible and peaceful elections, noting that the exercise reflects its democratic values and organizational strength.

She explained that the elections are being conducted through established party structures, supported by dedicated teams in technology, logistics, and election coordination to ensure efficiency, accountability, and order to be held on 23 April.

Mbarire further stressed inclusivity, noting that the party continues to nurture leadership by producing strong candidates drawn from youth, women, professionals, farmers, and other special interest groups across the country.

She also emphasized the need for peace, urging members to avoid electoral violence and maintain discipline, saying earlier phases had largely been calm and successfully managed.
The party confirmed that participation has remained strong, with thousands of grassroots officials already elected and higher turnout expected as the process continues across multiple counties.

 The SG Hassan Omar further announced that repeat elections will be conducted in selected areas where disputes and logistical challenges were reported, to safeguard fairness and credibility of the process.

In addition, preparations are underway for the Ol Kalou by-election, with the party indicating it will field a candidate as part of its broader electoral strategy.

The leadership also noted that internal discussions are ongoing on the emerging zoning debate, aimed at balancing regional representation, fairness, and inclusivity in the allocation of party positions and electoral tickets ahead of future contests.

Party officials added that consultations with senior leadership, including the Deputy Party Leader, have already taken place, where several aspirants expressed interest in various seats under a new party ticket. The party assured members that free and fair nominations and primaries will be conducted at a date to be announced.

They SG reiterated that strategic planning remains central to the party’s national agenda, focusing on strengthening structures, expanding support, and ensuring effective political organization across all regions.

The leadership concluded by calling for unity and discipline, reaffirming the party’s commitment to democratic practice, peaceful elections, and structured leadership renewal.
