ESTHER WARINGA DECLARES PRESIDENTIAL BID, UNVEILS REFORM AGENDA, MANIFESTO AND CAMPAIGN THEME

Ambassador Esther Waringa has officially declared her bid for the presidency of the Republic of Kenya as an independent candidate under the Alliance of Independent Reformers (AIR), citing corruption, weak governance structures, and public frustration as the main drivers behind her decision to enter the race.
In her statement, Waringa said her candidacy is driven by a “national duty” to restore trust in leadership and rebuild institutions she described as weakened by years of political interference, incompetence, and corruption. She noted that many Kenyans are disillusioned by rising living costs, unemployment, and unequal access to opportunities.

“Our vision for Kenya is clear—a transformative, progressive, and ethical government that places the people at the center of all decision-making,” she said.

Campaign Theme

Waringa unveiled her campaign theme as “Leadership Beyond Politics, Service Beyond Promises.” She said the theme reflects her commitment to shifting governance from rhetoric to measurable action and accountability.

Manifesto Pillars

She also outlined her manifesto, built on four key pillars:

1. Good Governance and Integrity – Strengthening institutions, fighting corruption, and restoring accountability in public service.

2. Economic Transformation and Job Creation – Supporting industrial growth, empowering youth and SMEs, and reducing the cost of living.

3. Social Justice and Equality – Ensuring fair access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for all citizens.

4. National Unity and Inclusion – Promoting cohesion beyond tribal and political divisions.

Waringa emphasized that her leadership approach will focus on competence, patriotism, and results-driven governance.

She further announced that her official campaign launch will take place on Thursday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at the Peace Memorial Garden (formerly Uhuru Park) in Nairobi, beginning with a peaceful procession symbolizing unity and national renewal.

Following the launch, she will embark on a nationwide grassroots engagement tour aimed at listening to citizens and shaping policy directly from public concerns.
Waringa urged Kenyans to embrace a new political culture anchored on integrity and collective responsibility, saying her movement represents a break from traditional party politics.

“The time has come to do things differently. Together, we can build the Kenya we deserve,” she said, closing with her signature message, “Pamoja na malengo.”
