Linda Mwananchi Movement Slams Ruto and Gachagua: Calls for Ethical Leadership and Focus on National Issues

The Linda Mwananchi Movement has strongly criticized recent public remarks by William Ruto and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, describing them as unethical, divisive, and unbecoming of national leaders.
The statements were issued following a high-level meeting held at the movement’s headquarters in Nairobi on Tuesday, which brought together key officials, youth representatives, and civil society members. During the meeting, members reviewed the current political climate, noting an alarming increase in public bickering among leaders instead of addressing urgent national issues.

Speaking to the media, Babu Owino said:
"Kenyans deserve leadership that is focused on solutions, not insults. The country is grappling with serious economic challenges, and leaders must rise above petty exchanges."

Joining the criticism, James Orengo emphasized:
"Leadership is not about noise or theatrics. It is about integrity, accountability, and respect for the people. We must restore dignity in public discourse."

The movement also outlined actionable steps to ensure citizens’ voices are amplified in national debates. Key resolutions included promoting issue-based politics, engaging communities in policy discussions, and organizing awareness campaigns on civic responsibility.

Linda Mwananchi called on all leaders to exercise restraint, uphold dignity, and prioritize pressing national issues such as unemployment, economic inequality, and the rising cost of living. The movement reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of ordinary Kenyans.
