Gachagua Welcomes Millicent Omanga, Criticizes President Ruto Over Governance and Corruption
Nairobi, Kenya — Democratic Conservative Party (DCP) leader has welcomed into his party, while delivering a scathing critique of President ’s leadership.
Omanga, a vocal politician with a strong support base, was formally received at DCP headquarters, where she celebrated her defection alongside party officials and supporters. Gachagua described her decision as a “strategic partnership” that will strengthen DCP’s presence in Nairobi and key regions, signaling a shift in political dynamics ahead of upcoming elections.
Turning to national issues, Gachagua criticized Ruto for focusing on trivial matters such as advising Kenyans to reduce food intake, visit gyms, and commenting on women’s bodies, calling these remarks “out of touch” with citizens struggling with hunger, poor healthcare, and stalled education.
Gachagua also alleged massive corruption in contracts awarded to The Chinese firm China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) iwhich is heavily involved in Kenya’s infrastructure under President William Samoei Ruto, handling major projects like the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) extensions, Nairobi Expressway, and key road corridors. Gachagua and his critics cite CRBC’s dominance as a concern for transparency, funding, and economic impact. calling it “a conveyor of corruption” and warning that billions intended for infrastructure and development are being mismanaged. He announced plans to hold a press briefing detailing allocations, commissions, and projects linked to the firm, emphasizing the need for transparency.
The DCP leader urged the government to prioritize essential services, economic growth, and accountability rather than personal or trivial comments. He positioned himself as a champion of governance reforms and real solutions for ordinary Kenyans, promising that DCP will fight corruption, expand opportunities, and ensure citizens see tangible improvements in their daily lives.
With Omanga’s defection and Gachagua’s pointed criticism, DCP is signaling itself as a serious political force, ready to challenge the government and advocate for policies that address the country’s pressing need
